MANDY BRIGHAM, Associate Artistic Director, is in her 16th season with Los Angeles Children’s Chorus. She conducts LACC’s Intermediate and Preparatory Choirs, and is responsible for overseeing the organization’s music literacy and vocal coaching programs. She has prepared choristers for collaborations with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Pasadena Symphony, Long Beach Symphony, Angeles Chorale, and the December 2013 production of Britten’s Prodigal Son as part of Britten 100/LA, conducted by James Conlon. She has assisted with the preparation of the children’s chorus for numerous LA Opera productions, including Carmen, La Bohème, Tosca, Otello, Hansel and Gretel, and Grendel, under the baton of conductors including Plácido Domingo, James Conlon, Kent Nagano, Alan Gilbert, and Grant Gershon. Brigham holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Southern California, where she also did graduate study. Her teachers there include Morten Lauridsen, James Vail, and Charles Hirt. In addition to her work at LACC, Brigham presents at workshops and conferences for fellow educators and conductors, and she directed the vocal music at Balboa Boulevard Magnet School in Northridge for over 20 years.
